I heard this song and I immediately thought of you... *Seeing how uncomfortable he looked, her smile faded and she put the song away.* Nevermind. Forget it.

Yeah?

*he rubbed the back of his head with his palm*

Was never big on Country music...

Well, yeah. It's redneck romance. A little dirty but a lot funny.

Really? I thought all you country boys were. What do you like then? Classic rock? Modern rock? Polka?

*smiles a bit* I got it, yeah.

I don't spend my night in some barn dosadoing, you know?

I try to keep up with the new rock music. *though at his age he's probably drifting into some classic now without noticing*

What do you do? I mean, did you have a job? A girlfriend? Was it just you and your brother? I feel like I just don't know that much about you.

I like new rock. Earlier this year I went and saw Five Finger Death Punch and the Sick Puppies. Both outstanding...

...Oh god. I wonder if they survived. It's so weird to think there could never be another new album by, well, anyone.

Mostly we went to biker bars, me an' Merle. Or we sat out front at home, shooting the shit. ... I saw a couple of girls, nothing serious.

There'll be new music. Might not be as loud as before, but there's always music.

I did the club scene. Comes with the territory when you live with gay boys and hang out with D-listers. I don't know. I think I was growing out of it though. It just wasn't as fun as it was in my early 20s.

Do you play anything? Dale found a guitar.
[identity profile] arrow-in-ur-ass.livejournal.com on November 2nd, 2011 10:33 pm (UTC)
What the hell's D-lister? I've never done that stuff. Been in a few moshpits though.

Nope, we're not the instrument playin' kinda family. Someone will be able to play, I'd listen to almost anything now.

*Chuckles* There is a ranking amongst celebrities. The A-Listers are the highest paid and most popular. They can pretty much do whatever they want. The D-Lister are people that are sort of psuedo-famous or they were famous back in the day but these days they are more of a joke. Most 80s hair metal falls in that category, reality tv stars, most comedians, and children of celebrities. I'm the last one. My dad was a rockstar in the 80s. When the band broke up he became a producer. My mom's a news anchor for Channel 5. They are probably B-List tops.

I play. I only have a few songs memorized though. I'm pretty sure I could just try it by ear. I mean I used to do that before I learned to read music but it would be easier if I had paper so I could write down chords.

Yeah? What band was your dad in? Maybe I heard of them.

*shrugs* Gotta sound better than anything I'd knock out of one.
[identity profile] digi-punk.livejournal.com on November 3rd, 2011 10:26 pm (UTC)
Maybe. They had a couple platinum albums back in the day. Uh, Beast of Burden. ((Fictional band with an 80s hair metal sound similar to Poison or Motley Crue.)) Yeah, my dad was the bassist so his options were a little limited. He did try and do a solo album but I think like 12,000 copies sold but it wasn't because the album was all that good. My dad just turned out to be really good at the business end.

Can you sing?
